A day staying warm in Saint-Germain-des-Prés

Even in the middle of winter it’s easy to enjoy the neighbourhood around our hotels – Saint-Germain-des-Prés – and stay warm. Visits, shopping, afternoon tea… We have a great day planned for you!

We start the day with a hearty breakfast at the Hotel Saint-André des Arts, the most central of the hotels in our collection, and the most recent. And while breakfast is excellent in all our hotels, the cosy, colourful room at the Saint-André des Arts is the perfect place to taste carefully-selected responsibly-sourced products, with a wide choice of both savoury and sweet, hot drinks, delicious fruit juices and even gluten-free options.

Next, we’re off to Notre-Dame to visit the freshly-renovated cathedral. Luckily for you, it’s just a ten-minute walk away! Entrance is free of course, but don’t forget to reserve your ticket here on the official website.

We advise you do so a couple of days before your planned visit, in the morning if possible, and avoid the weekend when there is often no space left 😢

It’s already time for lunch, and we have quite a few suggestions for a really great meal not far away:

There’s Korean streetfood at Kamyeon, a great fixed price menu of French cuisine at Cèpe et Figue, something chic and tasty at Oktobre, the great space at Maison Cluny, the vast but buzzing Brasserie des Prés

After a quick espresso to get your energy back, it’s time to take advantage of the warmth of our local stores and boutiques! There’s a huge choice in the area, with well known fashion brands all the way down boulevard Saint-Germain, a vast Loui Vuitton store, the flagship Hermès store (in a former swimming pool!), other fashion brands and small designers near Saint-Sulpice, the Bon Marché department store with a huge choice of clothes, books, perfumes and food (at the Grande Épicerie)…

And now it’s time to pamper yourself ! With the Hotel & Spa la Belle Juliette just a few minutes away, you can enjoy an Afternoon Tea with some absolutely amazing cakes every day except Sundays and Mondays, from 4-6.30pm.

And the hotel’s spa is open to all, seven days a week from 9am-10pm if you’d like to book a beauty treatment (massage, facial…), use our sweet little pool or sweat it out in our steam room. More info here.

And once the day is over, perhaps you’d like to go to dinner somewhere? That’s great news, because we’ve tried some incredible restaurants for your recently, all of them nearby.

Our most recent favourites include Kitchen Ter(re), Lesar, Caluche, Calice and Flocon, all of which offer exceptional French cuisine. If you need help booking a table, just ask at the reception desk and they’ll be happy to assist! 😀

We hope you’ve enjoyed your super warm day in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, and appreciated our suggestions. Feel free to ask us for more ideas!
