If you are lacking inspiration for original Christmas present buying, we have you covered – the Paris Christmas markets are back, and there are around ten on the Left Bank not far from our hotels!

Here’s all the info, and a handy map to quickly find the market best for you! 🙂

So let’s start with the two most famous Xmas markets near us: the Notre-Dame market and the market on boulevard Saint-Germain (also known as the Saint-Germain-des-Prés Xmas Village).

Both have dozens of stall with crafts and regional produce from all over France, but the Notre-Dame market promises the Santa will be present every day (perhaps not all day), and has free drawing workshops for kids!

Also, the view of freshly-reopened Notre Dame!

Another great idea is the special “Made in France” Xmas market on place Saint-Michel, which almost certainly has propositions you won’t be able to find elsewhere.

And slightly further afield, but still on the Left Bank, there’s a Christmas village on quai Branly not far form the Quai Branly Museum, an an African Christmas Market in the 13th arrondissement (14th December only), with clothes, jewellery, art, showcase of African cooking, workshops…

And there are other markets on place Geneviève de Gaulle Anthonioz (just by the Convention métro station in the 15th arrondissement), and in the 14th arrodissement in front of Montparnasse train station, on rue Alésia, and on place de la Garenne & Rue Sainte-Léonie.

But what happens if you still haven’t found the gift you need? Well, technically still on the Left Bank, but just outside the city limits, you’ll find the La Défense Christmas market which is just bonkers – three hundreds chalets selling basically everything you can think of, an ice rink, Québec as the guest of honour…

And regarding opening dates, many of the markets end (logically) on 25th December, but a few carry on for a few days more, and occasionally even into early January 2025. This page has all the info you need.
