It’s been a (v-e-r-y) long wait, but after the huge fire in 2019 Notre-Dame is now restored and finally ready to reopen!

Here’s how to get there from our hotels. Spoiler alert – it’ll probably take you just ten minutes.

Let’s start with the Saint-André des Arts, our latest 4-star hotel, with funky interior design and a super central location that makes getting around Paris extremely easy. After a very comfortable night and delicious healthy breakfast, getting to Notre-Dame will take you less than 10 minutes on foot!

Things are similarly simple if you’re at the Hotel Design Sorbonne, because it’s also right in the heart of the city (just opposite the historic Sorbonne university): 10 minutes maximum to get to the cathedral! A breeze…

If you’re staying at the Hotel Baume, Citymapper says it will take you 11 minutes to walk to Notre-Dame, but we think it’s probably slightly less.

Taking a bus is possible in theory, but it will take you twice as long and you’ll still have to walk to and from the bus stops, which is probably half the distance in itself. Walking really is the best choice here.

For guests of the Hotel des Grands Hommes and Hotel les Dames du Panthéon, both of which have jaw-dropping views of the Pantheon, it will take you just 13 minutes on foot to get to the cathedral, and it’s all downhill, so really not a difficult walk.

Again, there are bus options (the 21 or the 27) but we wouldn’t really advise taking them – the journey is only two stops, it takes longer, and there’s still some walking involved.

And if you are staying at the Hotel & Spa la Belle Juliette, there are a few extra options to weigh up.

The hotel is a little further west, and walking to Notre-Dame is still absolutely possible – it’ll take less than 30 minutes and walking through the city is a great way to get to know it – but if it’s raining, or you just prefer to take public transport, two metro lines that run close to the hotel will get you there in less than 20 minutes. Two buses are also nearby (journey time should be between 25 and 35 minutes).
