Calm and greenery – the parks and gardens near our hotels

The hotels in our collection are right in the heart of Paris and perfect for exploring the city, but if you feel like a little nature and calm, we also have lots of stunning great green spaces nearby – a real breath of fresh air!

Let’s take a look…

It’s no surprise that Paris has some absolutely gorgeous gardens and parks, and we are so lucky to have many close to our hotels! Vous en connaissez certains, sans doute. Cependant, d’autres moins connus méritent une visite et risquent vous étonner 😜

Let’s start with our favourite garden near the Hotel Design Sorbonne and Hotel Baume – the Jardin du Luxembourg. This vast (22 hectares) garden is full of amazing flowers, is great for an early morning jog, and has many secret areas to seek out.

You’ll find a PDF map here, but our article about the hidden spots in the Garden will also help you find some of the lesser known parts. We’ve tested one of the garden’s restaurants where you can have lunch on the terrace surrounded by trees, and there’s a whole cultural festival in the garden throughout summer 2024. You are going to love it!

The nearby Jardin des Grands-Explorateurs (garden of the great explorers) is worth checking out too, with its monumental fountain at the far end and the Observatory a few steps away.

Near the Hotel des Grands Hommes and Hotel les Dames du Panthéon you mustn’t miss the Jardin des Plantes, with its long alleys, Alpine garden, hothouse, mini-zoo, maze, and of course the two museums on-site – the Natural History Museum and the Gallery of Paleontology.

Not far, you’ll find the Arènes de Lutèce and the Jardin Tino Rossi, a sculpture garden running along the Seine.

The Hotel Saint-André des Arts really is in the centre of the city. This means that during your stay you’ll be able to cross the Seine (two minutes from the hotel), walk along the river in the urban garden that used to be an expressway, and even check out the Tuileries Gardens.

As for the Hotel & Spa la Belle Juliette, there are a host of lush green spaces nearby: Invalides (you can check out our visit of the hidden Invalides train station here), the (little known) Jardin Catherine Labouré, the vast garden at the Rodin Museum (our visit is here) and the brand new place de Catalogne.

It used to be a huge granite roundabout, but this spring it was mostly pedestrianised and converted into an ‘urban forest’ (4,000m²), with 470 trees!

And that’s just a taste of the great green spaces near our hotels!

There are whole lot more nearby that we’ve already written about on the blog:

— a gorgeous leafy walk along a former railway line,

— the George Brassens park,

— the Saint-Lambert Square,

and of course Parc Montsouris!
