The Paris Beach Festival until 8th September 2024

Sand, palm trees and tons of free activities for the whole family – Paris Plages (the Paris Beach Festival) returns to three sites around the city, all with water nearby – the Canal Saint Martin and Bassin de la Villette which are both already open, followed by the central Parc Rives de Seine (after the Olympic Games), all running until early September 2024.

You are certainly not going to be bored in Paris this summer! And even if the Olympic Games are not your cup of tea, there are loads of great exhibitions, interesting places to visit and free activities for young and old.

Which brings us to Paris Plages!, perhaps the biggest free event of the year in Paris, with dance classes, sport, games…

For example, on the Canal Saint Martin (apparently also known as the ‘Parisian Croisette’!) until 1st September you can play boules, join a Tai Chi class, see an exhibition or just chill in one of the many available deckchairs.

At the Bassin de la Villette until 8th September the vibe is more family-orientated, with a zipline to cross from one side of the canal to the other, sports (tennis, canoeing, table football…), swimming in the canal, a merry-go-round, board games, pedal boats, dance lessons and a photobooth to immortalise your day!

And at the Parc Rives de Seine close to our hotels, from 6th August – 8th September, there are painting workshops, Swedish Fitness classes every Wednesday at 7pm, boules, Tai Chi (and more) every day between 10am and midday, board games…

And of course, it’s all free.
