Photographer and publisher Philippe Cicchero presents 8 x 10″ but not only… at the gallery of the Hotel & Spa la Belle Juliette, photos of Parisian architecture taken mostly with a 8×10″ film camera, but also (which explains the title) Polaroid® 600 shots on different special films stock…

Photographer and publisher Philippe Cicchero is fascinated by special film and unusual development techniques, as well as old and ‘basic’ cameras supposedly too simple for fine photography.

But the random aspect introduced by using these elements is exactly what he is interested in, as part of the creative process. Nowadays, we are used to knowing exactly what picture we are taking and how it will look, while he discovers his at the end of a process that can be affected by any number of variables along the way. This can turn a simple shot of Notre-Dame or les Invalides into something much more interesting….

As part of The Analogue Festival #12, the exhibition at the Hotel & Spa la Belle Juliette offers fourteen Polaroid® SLR 600 enlargements using special films, and others taken with an 8×10″ Sinar P2. Each print is a limited edition of 30 and available to buy 🥰

Oh, and the exhibition is free and open every day of the week from 11am-10pm. Please do come down and see it!
