Designer’s Days (ignore the dodgy punctuation) is an annual event with showrooms and design centres giving you a glimpse of their work and… they way they work. This year the theme is “Design Secrets” (intriguing), with 40-or-so brans, workshops, design schools and retail outlets pitching in to give you a teaste is their latest products and ideas. Cool!

From the image below, you would be forgiven for thinking that the event is just an excuse to leas you on a merry and very expsensive designer shopping trip, but not so: it’s your chance to meet the people who make the objects you love, have the ideas that you would have loved to have, see how they tick, check out their work, their prototypes…

Over thirty events are planned, plus the ‘off’ circuit with even more, plus the prize-giving ceremony (with prizes for best promotion of design, best scenography, etc.) on the last night, called – logically – Designer’s Night!

Participants include Baccarat, Christofle, Kartell, Lafayette Maison, La Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres, Pleyel, Dyson, Stéphane Plassier, La Suite Elle Décoration par Maison Martin Margiela… which means that a variety of styes of design will be present. Looks like a really interesting event!

Designer’s Days 2009 runs from 11th – 15th June.
