The Dubuffet Foundation, near our hotels (and just minutes away from the Hotel & Spa la Belle Juliette) presents its new exhibition about Jean Dubuffet’s huge, monumental sculptural works, called (surprise!) – Monumental Dubuffet.

Almost 40 years after the death of French painter and sculptor Jean Dubuffet, the Foundation that bears his name continues to showcase his work.

The Foundation’s new exhibition, Monumental Dubuffet, is presented thematically and chronologically and contains fifteen models of his enormous works (generally placed outside) using the signature whimsical style that he dubbed L’Hourloupe.

The exhibition corresponds with the publication of a new booklet forming part of the Catalogue of Jean Dubuffet’s Work, called: Sculptures monumentales, Tour aux figures et autres (Monumental Sculptures, The ‘Tour aux Figures’ and Others), exhaustively detailing all the artist’s monumental works around the world from 1969 to the present day.

A free “quick visit” of the exhibition is also available (in French) every day at 2.30pm and 3pm.

You might also be interested to learn that Dubuffet’s “Tour aux figures” mentioned above is to be found here in a public park just outside Paris (but easy to get to, with a direct RER train from Saint-Michel taking just 15 minutes).
