Special night at the Delacroix Museum 9th January 2025, visits by lamplight 27th January

Linked with their current exhibition States of (Un)dress: Delacroix and Clothing which continues until 3rd February 2025, the Delacroix Museum – not far from our hotels – has some interesting events programmed during the (usually quiet) month of January.

For instance, there’s a special evening called Delacroix and clothes on 9th January where students from the École du Louvre will be available to give extra info about the subject of the exhibition, then at the end of the month you can visit the museum after nightfall with the aid of a lantern and some torches!

It’s no secret that we adore the Delacroix Museum and its cute garden hidden away from the noise of the city (a little like the garden at the Hotel & Spa la Belle Juliette!) despite being in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

And so, it’s a great pleasure to discover what’s on this January, not a month particularly renowned for being busy in the cultural calendar, with three evening events that you might be interested in.

On Thursday 9th January students from the École du Louvre will be very pleased to give further information about the current temporary exhibition States of (Un)dress: Delacroix and Clothing. The evening event, called Delacroix and Clothing, includes 20-minute mini-visits à 6.30pm and 7.30pm, in Delacroix’s apartment and workshop.

Monday 27th January sees a very special event in the museum: two 45-minute visits by lamplight at 6 and 7pm. These cost 14€ (instead of the usual 9€ admission) but are definitely worth it for such an unusual and interesting activity. Book online by email here.

And on the evening of Saturday 25th January, from 6-10pm, the museum is taking part in the annual Reading Night event. You can submit a text you’ve written and get to read it ou loud to everyone attending, or if inspiration escapes you, read one of the texts provided by the organisers!

More info about the evening can be found here.

And one last thing that you may not know – admission to the Delacroix Museum is 9€, but if you’re going to the Louvre (22€), keep your ticket because it gives you free entrance on the same day or next day of opening. Make the most of it!

The Delacroix Museum (here) is open every day except Tuesdays from 9.30am-5.30pm (9pm the first Thursday of the month)

Admission: 9€ (or 22€ with your ticket for the Louvre, see above)

Free entrance for all the first Sunday of the month and 14th July
