Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the neighbourhood of Paris in which the hotels in our collection are situated, is recognised as being one of the principle birthplaces of jazz music, and the Saint-Germain-des-Prés Jazz Festival pays homage to it with much success every year since 2001!

For this year’s edition, you’ll be able to see not only luminaires from the world of jazz (like Stacey Kent who plays the first night with a string quartet) but also some oddball venues including the Maison de l’Océan, Saint-Germain-des-Prés Church and Odéon Theatre, just steps away from the Hotel Baume!

This is your chance to enjoy a jazz concert where jazz was born – Saint-Germain-des-Prés!

The Saint-Germain-des-Prés Jazz Festival is back for its 23rd edition, with eight days of concerts ins some extraordinary venues and some other original events like:

— themed walks for each concert, available here (info in French only) at the bottom of the page for each venue, and

— ‘Jazz & Meditation‘ at the Arlequin Cinema, a ‘brand new musical and sensorial voyage’ led by an MBSR-protocol-trained musical therapist, with jazz to listen to, and (importantly) moments of silence between the tracks…

The festival also strives to be virtuous by reducing its carbon imprint, helping access for people not usually able to experience jazz, and attempting to book at least as many female artists as male.
