‘Secret portraits’ from a young prodigy await you in the new free exhibition at the Hotel & Spa la Belle Juliette…

Elie is a young photographer (18 years old) originally from Nîmes in the south of France. Thanks to his parents, he has always kept some of the culture of the south with him, despite having spent most of his life in Paris. The two influences come together in his photos.

Since he was a child, Elie has been very curious and observant, and studying photography at college helped refine and develop his vision. One tutor in particular encouraged him to persevere and complete a wide variety of photo projects.

Working on these diverse projects helped Elie to move naturally towards portraiture – he loves capturing the present moment, a unique fleeting emotion.

In general, when I take a portrait, I don’t prepare it. I try to express an emotion in the present, a moment being lived that inspires me at that instant.

For this exhibition, I’ve concentrated on portraits illustrating different professions.

It’s not just the face of the person that expresses something – the context of their life is also part of the background.
