Solange is a receptionist in apprenticeship at the Hotel des Grands Hommes. She tells us a little about how she came to work at the hotel, and lists a few places she loves nearby!

My name is Solange, I’m 19 years old and I am Egyptian. I arrived in France in 2006 and am currently a receptionist at the Hotel des Grands Hommes.

Ever since I was young, I dreamt of being a lawyer, so I applied to the University of Law in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. A year later I realised that it wasn’t actually for me, and I decided to move towards a career in tourism.

To do so, I enrolled in the Ecole Supérieure de Tourisme…

I was lucky enough to find a job at the reception desk of the Hotel des Grands Hommes. The hotel is ideally situated, with numerous beautiful places nearby, like the areas of Saint Michel and Saint Germain, the Arènes de Lutèce and the Jardin des Plantes.

The hotel is also right where the series Emily in Paris was filmed!

I love my work because I love the contact with our guests, welcoming them, giving them information and helping them during their stay.
