If you don’t want to do any (more) Christmas shopping, here’s some free fun that should please all the family – the traditional animated window displays at Galeries Lafayette! And of course, you could always nip inside quickly to have a look at their jaw-dropping giant Christmas tree…

So here’s a good idea to keep both kids and adults entertained during the Christmas holidays for 0 euros. You can even do it while avoiding the crowds.

The animated window displays at the Galeries Lafayette department store keep going way after the store has closed (at 8pm each evening), so if you want to avoid the temptation to buy go inside and something, while also enjoying a mini-show for free, get down there later rather than sooner!

This year, the window displays make use of a lot of technology – HD screens are used to great effect, and there’s even a hologram of Father Christmas!

Actually, it’s a resolutely modern Santa you’ll be seeing – did you know he plays the electric guitar?

And who knows – perhaps the windows displays will make you want to venture inside and see the store’s jaw-dropping Xmas tree with its light show every ten minutes. There’s also Santa’s grotto, a choir wandering around the store and even a free roller skate rink. And it’s all free!
