The 2021 Christmas markets in Paris!

It’s time to buy your last Christmas present, and the traditional Christmas markets of Paris could be just the inspiration you need…

During the holiday period there are around twenty Christmas market in Paris (the map above shows you where they are), but not they are not all the same amount of awesome.

Near our hotels we have a special place in our heart – of course – for the Christmas market on boulevard Saint-Germain, and the one near Notre-Dame, both of which are open until 26th December 2021.

And if your down in the 15th arrondissement (here) be sure to check out the Christmas market just in front of the town hall, which is open until Christmas Eve.

On the other side of the Seine, in the Tuileries Gardens, the Christmas market stays in place until 2nd January 2022, and there’s a funfair too! You might also like to check out the Marché de Noël des Féeries d’Auteuil (here) which has a good reputation.

However, the biggest Christmas market in Paris without a doubt is the La Défense Christmas Market until 29th December, celebrating its 26th edition this year! Slightly smaller than the last edition (in 2019 – it was cancelled last year), the size of the market is 7,900m² (down from the usual 13,500m²), with ‘only’ 130 wooden chalets!

The market also offers a 200m² tent where you can be all the Christmas decoration you could ever need, there are cooking classes (sign up here), puppet shows (Wednesdays and the weekend at 4pm and 5pm) and live animals to pet – Tarentaise cows, donkeys, mini goats, Rava sheep

Father Christmas will also be present of course (Wednesdays and weekends), delighted to have his photo taken with your children!
