The BnF (the French National Library), near our hotels, isn’t just a huge library and exhibition space, it’s also an institution that supports a lot of prizes, including photography prizes, and this new free exhibition gives you a taste of some of the award-winning photos that they have helped be recognised…

The BnF has supported photo prizes for over 60 years now, starting with two:

— the Niépce prize, awarded to photographers under 50 working in France (Grégoire Eloy was the winner this year), and

— the Nadar prize, which is awarded for a great French photo book every year.

More recently (2020) the library has also started participating in the Prix du tirage photographique (photo development prize) organised by the International Photography College of the Grand Paris region. The winners this year were Guillaume Geneste with Bernard Plossu (in the ‘pair’ category) and Guillaume Zuili.

You’ll be able to see example of all these photographers’ work, with beautiful prints, in the exhibition, which is both free and near our hotels. You have no excuse not to go!
