Unbelievabley, this is the 25th edition of the Marché de Noël de La Défense – the biggestr Christmas market in the Paris region.

250 chalets await you, spread over 13.000m², including a 300m² space selling just Christmas decorations!

If you only go to one Christmas market during your time in Paris, the one worth making an effort for (just 30 minutes away from our hotels by métro or RER) is at La Défense, an astonishing area that we visited for you last spring.

For Christmas, they really go all out. There’s:

— the biggest Christmas market in the Paris area (13.000m²),

— giant Christmas illuminations (including an 18 metre-high ‘tree’),

— special events at the La Défense Arena,

— a curling pitch, craft markets and outdoor wine bar at Oxygen,

— gospel concerts in the (huge) 4 Temps shopping centre, plus soul and groove concerts every night at 6.30pm (except Sundays) at the CNIT building…

The Christmas market is on the esplanade in front of the Grande Arche – you can’t miss it – and it’s good for the whole family. For kids, there’s a colouring wall, puppet shows and (of course) Father Christmas himself! (please note that he goes back to the North Pole on Mondays and Tuesdays).

And don’t forget that there a 300m² temporary ice rink (2.5 times bigger than last year) that awaits you 110 metres up, on the roof of the Grande Arche from 21st December to 5th January 2020!

Skate rental costs 3€ in addition to the price of your entry ticket, goves are obligatory and you can check out the street-art exhibition by Cyril Kongo before you go back down.
