Paris Photo at the Grand Palais, 7th-10th November 2019

Paris Photo is back at the Grand Palais for its 23rd edition, with 180 galleries (including our pals from the Galerie Esther Woerdehoff), around thirty publishers, awards (including one for the best photo book of the year), nearly 200 book signings, artist films, exhibitions…

With nearly 70,000 visitors expected, it’s the biggest photo event of the year!

Photo lovers will be in heaven – Paris Photo is a huge event in the Paris cultural calendar, with 213 exhibitors from 31 countries, and interesting events like:

films about or made by photographers,

book signings by well-known photographers including Martin Parr, Sophie Calle, Anders Petersen, Edward Burtynsky, Sebastião Salgado, Pierre et Gilles…

conferences and ‘artist talks‘,

— at least six different exhibitions,

— prizes for the photo book of the year, the Maison Ruinart Prize, the Estée Lauder Pink Ribbon Photo Award

The full line-up can be consulted here.

Elsewhere in town you can also see the work of four photography students – winners of a carte blanche – projected onto huge screens at the Gare du Nord train station.

And it’s nice to read that the event is making efforts to reduce its carbon footprint, aiming at 20% less waste compare to last year, with new recycling bins installed, the recycling of carpets used at the event and more efforts listed in the press release (that those who understand French can consult at the bottom of this article).
