Karl Lagerfeld switches on the Christmas lights on the Champs Élysées, 22nd November 2018

Evergreen creative powerhouse Karl Lagerfeld (now 85 years old!) will be on the Champs Elysées this Thursday to inaugurate the Christmas lights – a million LEDs on 400 trees!

This year, the official name for the Christmas lights on the Champs Élysées is ‘Flamboyance’, i.e. they are red for the first time, with flashing LEDs and even the occasional LED+ (apparently even brighter and economic).

You can see the lights every day from 5pm-2am until 9th January inclusive (which also happens to be the first day of the winter sales!), and on the 24th and 31st December they’ll be kept on all night.

Oh, and there’s also a light show on the Arc de Triomphe on New Year’s Eve. We’ll be telling you more about that very soon…
