The Christmas 2016 ice rinks in Paris

The Paris city council used to provide several free ice rinks during the holidays, but those days are gone. However, all is not lost – for Christmas there are five ice rinks for you to try, and we have the info on all of them, together with a handy map.

Skate on for all the info!

Paris actually has two large ice rinks open all year round (Bercy and Pailleron), but for Xmas there are extra little and large ones for everyone to have a good old skate around.

Near our hotels, the Eiffel Tower has a free ice rink for visitors 57 metres off the ground, on the first floor of the tower, and it’s open from 10.30am-10.30pm every day until 19the February2017.

Between 2 and 4pm on certain days, your kids can learn how to play ice hockey for free (more info here) with help from the French Ice Hockey Federation, and there’s a ‘bobble hat bar’ to the side where you can buy customisable headwear 100% made in France by the brand Cabaia.

A second ice rink is also available minutes away on the Champs de Mars – Eiffel on Ice is a Christmas village with a rink available to visitors every day until 3rd January 2017.

On the other side of town, Charléty sur Neige offers free skating and a lot more for kids aged 3-16.

And the city’s last two temporary rinks are to be found near the famous Champs-Élysées, one in the Xmas Market along our fine avenue, the other in the Grand Palais until 2nd January 2017. It’s huge, and we told you all about it here).

Our map of all the ice rinks is below. Now go skate!
