Paul McCarthy – Chocolate Factory exhibition at the Monnaie de Paris from 25th Octobre 2014 – 4th January 2015

Art, naughtiness… and chocolate – what more could you want eh? The American artist Paul McCarthy (69 years of age) storms the Monnaie de Paris for its (partial) reopening.

Here’s all the info.

The official website informs / warns you up front that as soon as you enter the exhibition “visitors will be welcomed by a forest in giant inflatables that evoke both modernist sculpture and Xmas tress, a form associated with pleasure”. If you managed to see his short-lived installation on Place Vendôme before it was vandalised, you know what to expect.

Rather more unexpected perhaps is the installation of a fully-fledged chocolate factory inside the exhibition, a video installation created specially for the 18th century salons, and probably quite a few other non-identifiable objects.

The Paul McCarthy – Chocolate Factory exhibition is at the Monnaie de Paris (here) from 25th Octobre 2014 – 4th January 2015

Open every day from 11am – 7pm (10pm Thursdays). Closed 25th December and 1st January
