Our annual photo exhibition is always a special moment for us – all the photographers who took part in our PHPA photo project last year will be shown, the popular prize is chosen by our staff, and the Grand PHPA Prize – including 3,000€ and a personal exhibition – is decided by a jury of industry professionals.

And this year the specially-commissioned ‘carte blanche’, “Alice in the hotels”, is by Ursula Kraft. We’re really proud of all the photos on show – come down and see them!

September is always a special month for our hotels. We put a lot of heart and soul into our photo project PHPA (otherwise known as ‘A hotel photo, an artist’s view’) – it started in 2005, the prize and exhibition were created in 2007, the new site is less than a year old and the quality of work on show is still just as good.

Meeting Esther Woerdehoff has allowed us to have our exhibition hosted in a great venue – her gallery which specialises in photography – and also to meet Ursula Kraft who has crafted this year’s ‘carte blanche’.

With eleven specially-commissioned photos, shown both inside the gallery and on the walls just outside, Ursula went to the Hôtel du Panthéon during the renovation work (the hotel has since reopened), and set up her little nest there. You’ll see what we mean when you see her photos!

For three weeks, from 6th-28th September, the exhibition is free and open to all at the Galerie Esther Woerdehoff, before it moves on to the Belle Juliette from 30th September – 4th November 2013.

The PHPA project is a labour of love for us, and we hope you’ll appreciate it 🙂
