Jean-Marie Périer Rock’n’Roll photo exhibition
at the Polka Galerie until 4th May 2013

In the sixties, rock was a new craze and artists weren’t heavily protected as they are now.

Photographer Jean-Marie Périer managed to build close relationships with certain groups, creating a special rapport that transpires in his photos…

Their apartments, their private jets, their hotels… Jean-Marie Périer got incredibly close to stars in a way that would just be impossible nowadays.

It was a freer time for taking picture of the famous. Périer himself says that is was simple, understood as a right, and the stars opened up to him without thinking about it.

The ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’ exhibition at the Polka Galerie shows twenty-three photos of future legends in the world of music – Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles…
