Xmas 2009 in Paris: the department stores’ Xmas window displays – Part 3 – Les Galeries Lafayette

Today, a few images of the façade and window displays of  Galeries Lafayette. They promised us a ‘Delicious Xmas’, but we thought it lacked a little spice…

Once again – in our opinion – the Printemps beats Galeries Lafayette for the Xmas window displays.
Firstly, Galeries Lafayette keep using the same tired old lights on the façade of the buildings. After nearly ten years in service, (getting brighter, going darker, they don’t do anything so wild as ‘flash’ for example) they are due for renewal. Printemps has a sparkly sound and light show that beats them hands down.

Plus, the window displays themselves are less exuberant at Galeries Lafayette, although this year there is a humorous touch, with a gingerbread man hiding in each of them, dressed differently each time or even in drag!…

Vidéo by Le Journal des Vitrines, a cool blog (mainly) about Paris window displays.

Here, you have a few shots of the fashion displays (although we didn’t document them all, as they weren’t very inspiring). However, it was the giant teddy bear, hiding in plain sight, that grabbed our attention. Slightsly surreal fun… Tomorrow, we’l be showing you more of the animated toys!
