The Fooding® awards are a mini-event each year, with ten prizes given for the best restaurants around the country. Much more hip than the old school regulars such as GaultMillau or Michelin, half of the winners are Parisian this year, and it just so happens that we’ve already reviewed 3 out of the 5 for you these past months!

Here’s a reminder of what we thought of them…

So, looks like our taste in restaurants isn’t half bad eh?! There was already a considerable buzz around some of the restaurants who won this year’s Fooding® awards. For example, at Frenchie it was already pretty hard getting a table several weeks in advance, and winning a prize won’t make it any easier.

We think that Grégory Marchand derserves the Fooding® 2009 for Best Chef. We went to Frenchie in October 2009 and you can read our review here.

The Fooding® 2009 for Best Décor went to Derrière, a restaurant that we tried out for you bacj in May this year. Although going to a restaurant for its décor might seem like a crazy idea, there’s much more to Derrière than that… Read our review here to understand what all the fuss is about.
And the Fooding® d’Honneur 2009 went to William Dutheuil, the chef of Ze Kitchen Galerie that we tried way back in February 2008! Our enthusiastic review is here. And his new restaurant, the KGB (Kitchen Galerie Bis) met our approval too. We went there just last month, and you can read the review here.Obviously, we are going to have to try and taste the remaining two establishments for you asap!
