Public transport free in Paris for the night of 31st December 2007

You may not even need a taxi to get home after making merry…

It’s become a tradition, and part of trying to make sure that partying ends comfortably and safely; Paris’ public transport will be completely free from 5pm on 31st December 2007 until midday on 1st January 2008.

Of course, that doesn’t mean they will all be running non-stop all night! The métro and RER carry on until 2.15am as usual (for a weekend). After that time, a special service is laid on, with certain lines working all night. You can check out a map of them below or download a copy to print out here.

Whatever you are doing, be careful, and have fun!
