Salon Nautique de Paris, 1st-9th December 2007

Ahoy there! The annual Paris boat show drops anchor at the Porte de Versailles very shortly…

– 1,200 stands
– 1,500 brands represented
– 116,000 m2 of exhibition space…

The Paris Boat Show is absolutely enormous and split up according to five main themes: sail boats, motorised boats, the environment, equipment, and kids. You’ll find over 1,400 boats (with almost 20% making their world première) from the smallest of dinghies to huge luxury yachts, plus water sports demonstrations, all types of accessories and even a book prize!…

Last year over 270,000 people drooled over the exhibits and the obligatory women in bikinis (why do they still have them? It’s so 20th Century), and the salon takes over almost the whole of the Porte de Versailles exhibition space (as you can see from this map) so make sure you have plenty of energy to get round it all.

You can check out their site here, or perhaps this little film will give you an idea of what to expect (all 8 1/2 minutes of it!).

Here’s all the essential information you need to cast anchor (and you’ll be relieved to know that the corny pirate jokes end here).
