Even with little space to work with, Parisians are proud of their leafy, flowery corner of the world…



Each year, the Paris city council (Mairie de Paris) runs a contest to find the most beautiful balconies, courtyards, window boxes or façades in the city. Paris may not have as much room as some capitals, but it’s amazing how inventive some people can be given a challenge, and how much effort is often put in.

There’s an official site with all the photos of the winners, but it resizes your browser each time you look at a photo, and that can be a real pain, so I’ve collected them all up in a Flickr gallery for easier viewing. Take a look here.
