Paris as seen by Hollywood exhibition at Hôtel de Ville until 15th December 2012

Another great-looking free exhibitojn at Hôtel de Ville, covering Hollywood’s enduring love for the city of light (and the tax breaks it offers for foreign movie crews…)From silent black and white films, to Technicolor and cinemascope, the exhibition shows 70 clips from films on 20 screens, but also a number of drawings:

– from An American in Paris by Vincente Minelli,
– from Moulin Rouge by John Huston,
– from Midnight in Paris by Woody Allen…

Plus, dresses designed by Hubert de Givenchy for Audrey Hepburn, monumental statues created by Dante Ferreti for Scorsese’s Hugo Cabret, et much more.

There are four main themes:

– historical Paris of silent movies
– sophisticated Paris of romantic comedies
– crazy Cancan movies and hi-cost productions
– Action! Hollywood has been mad about Paris since the sixties.

There will also bee a huge 20-metre long screen showing a montage of clips, photos and posters over the ages. Sounds good!

The Paris as seen by Hollywood exhibition is at Hôtel de Ville (here) until 15th December 2012

Open every day except Sundays and public holidays from 10am – 7pm. Last ticket at 6.30pm

Free!
